Many patients suffer from swelling with or without significant excess skin on the lower eyelids. In some cases, such as pure wrinkling of the lower eyelid or a tired expression due to the tear trough, other treatments such as laser, autologous fat or filler can be an alternative. Even small surgical and non-invasive procedures can have a big effect: an awakened, younger facial expression provides more freshness, friendliness and attractiveness.

What happens before the operation

In a comprehensive consultation, the medical options will be explained to you. Risks, the course of treatment and the healing process are discussed in detail.

What happens during lower eyelid lifting

A great advantage of this procedure is the outpatient surgery in our surgery under twilight sleep. Our anaesthetists will advise you in advance on all questions regarding the anaesthetic. In lower eyelid surgery, the incision is usually made in the area of the mucous membrane (transconjunctival). In this case, only the excess fat is removed. If a skin resection is also performed, the incision is made just below the lash line. Redistribution of the fatty tissue can help to improve dark circles under the eyes. If the lower edge of the eyelid is very soft, the outer corner of the eye can be lifted and the edge of the eyelid tightened.

After the operation / Aftercare

You will be discharged shortly after the operation and can go home with a companion. We will give you the appropriate pain medication to counteract any pain. You will be able to socialise again after approx. 10-14 days, until then there may be slight swelling and bruising. In principle, you will be able to work the next day. The small strips of plaster will be changed by us on the 2nd-3rd day after the operation at a check-up appointment and the wound will be checked. In the case of lower eyelids, there are usually no stitches to be removed. Physical exertion should be avoided for about a week.

Dr. Rolf Bartsch and his team are always available for you. Further check-up appointments are important to optimally support the healing process and are planned with you before the operation. These are always included in the surgery price, there are no additional costs.

The smell of sweat and sweat stains are not pleasant for anyone. Who isn’t familiar with them, the dark stains that tend to appear on white blouses or shirts in the armpit area? But not everyone sweats the same amount – and not everyone suffers equally.

Do you want to get rid of excessive perspiration?
Botulinum toxin (Botox) can help with excessive sweating – it inhibits sweat production. Injected into the armpit, it temporarily calms the muscles of our sweat glands. This has no effect on thermoregulation, as only 5% of sweat glands are located in the armpits. The effect wears off after a few months. You will be sweat-free after just 5-7 days, and the Botox treatment only takes a few minutes to leave you sweat-free for months.

WHAT IS PRIMARY HYPERHIDROSIS?
Increased sweating can have various causes. As sweating is often a symptom of illness or hormonal changes in the body, it is always advisable to first investigate the cause before focussing purely on treating the symptoms. If an otherwise healthy person is sweating profusely, this is referred to as “primary hyperhidrosis”. This can occur in various places, often on the soles of the feet (sweaty feet) or palms. Around 1 to 5 people out of 100 have primary hyperhidrosis.

This is absolutely harmless to the health of those affected. However, some people find it massively stressful, so that their lives and social interaction are severely restricted.

Sweat has an important excretory and detoxification function for the body and also serves to cool us down and regulate our temperature. However, sweat in the armpits only accounts for two per cent of total sweat secretion, which is why it is not a problem for the body to do without it.


WHAT COSTS SHOULD I EXPECT?
Depending on the size of the treated area, around €600 – €700.

Admittedly, this is somewhat expensive, as a significantly larger amount of Botox is required than for a facial treatment, for example. Caution is advised with cheap providers: A significant price reduction can only be achieved by greatly diluting the active ingredient – and thereby “diluting” the effect just as much.

SO FUNKTIONIERT ULTHERAPY®.

Mit gezielter Temperatur in der Tiefe erreichen wir Präzision. Anders als bei Lasergeräten und Radiofrequenzgeräten, die die Hitze von außen nach innen bringen, wirkt Ultherapy® von innen nach außen, um die Haut zu straffen und zu liften. Wir erreichen die tiefere Schichten, ohne die Hautoberfläche zu beeinträchtigen. Über hochfokussierten Ultraschall werden die Gewebeschichten auf einem Bildschirm definiert und gezielte Impulse mit bis zu 65 Grad Celsius ausgelöst. Lockere Kollagenfasern ziehen sich wieder zusammen, die Neuproduktion von Elastin und Kollagen in den Bindegewebszellen wird angeregt. Das Gerät wirkt von 1,5 Millimeter, 3 Milimeter bis zu 4,5 Millimetern in die Tiefe, die Hautoberfläche bleibt dabei völlig intakt. Die Resultate werden über einen Zeitraum von mehreren Monaten sichtbar – man muss der Kollagenneubildung auch Zeit geben –  Ergebnis ist ein jüngeres Aussehen mit mehr Kontur. Da sich das endgültige Ergebnis in kleinen Schritten entwickelt, ist auch für Außenstehende nicht sichtbar, dass eine Behandlung stattgefunden hat – anders als bei einem Lifting. Der Effekt ist sehr natürlich.

DIE BEHANDLUNG.

Eine Ultherapy®-Behandlung findet in unserer Ordination statt. Das Schmerzempfinden der Menschen ist generell sehr unterschiedlich. Die, durch den Ultraschall sehr feinen Nadelstiche und Ministöße lösen ein Kribbeln auf der Haut aus, diese ungewohnten Impulse irritieren die Nerven. Bei den meisten Patienten reicht es aus, eine Anästhesiesalbe zu verwenden. Sehr empfindlichen Patienten können auch eine Schmerztablette einnehmen, auf Wunsch kann auch eine lokale Anästhesie mit einer Spritze erfolgen. Im Vergleich zu einem chirurgischen Eingriff gilt Ultherapy® als sehr sicher. Als Nebenwirkungen können bei der Ultraschall-Behandlung leichte Schwellungen und Schmerzen auftreten, die einige Tage nach der Behandlung anhalten können. Selten kommt es zu Blutergüssen oder einem Taubheitsgefühl, das ebenfalls nach kurzer Zeit wieder nachlässt.

Bei akutem Auftreten von Herpes ist eine Behandlung nicht möglich.
