A very common wish of our patients is often to have more kindness and freshness conjured back into their faces and to look more rested. Probably the most common method of achieving this goal is treatment with botulinum toxin, also known as “Botox” or “Bocouture”.
Doctors have been working with botulinum toxin (Botox, BTX) in medicine for decades. It is not a neurotoxin, as is often erroneously reported, but a medicine. As with all medicines, it is well known that the dose makes the poison.
These wrinkles are usually caused by the loss of elastic fibers, a pronounced laugh and a reduced water balance. Crow’s feet are the wrinkles on the right and left sides of the eyes, keeping the sympathetic laugh lines and treating only the deep wrinkles over the cheek. Botox injections gently smooth these out and drive fatigue from the face. Too much Botox in this area makes a “fake smile” and should be avoided. Wrinkles that are pushed up through the cheeks when laughing are normal and cannot be treated with botulinum toxin. Special fillers can be used here.

These wrinkles are sympathetic and in many cases should only be reduced slightly so that the face continues to retain its facial expression. Deep wrinkles can be additionally injected with hyaluronic acid and thus reduced. If the eyebrows are very deep, the word is “caution”. The forehead muscle can be treated so that the eyebrows do not slide down. You have to accept a residual wrinkle formation for this, which can be well supported with fillers.

If the eyebrows are too low and do not correspond to the individual ideal after the analysis of the face, they can be lifted with a simple stitch. The naturalness of this treatment is also in the foreground here. Especially the loss of volume in the forehead with age causes the eyebrows to move downward. Here, a filler treatment can make sense.
If too much gum shows when laughing, in that the lips rotate too far upwards, this can be treated gently and easily by reducing the rotational force of the lip with Botox. You do not need to worry about unnatural results here, the technique has been used gently for years.

However, if the upper lip looks very narrow, for example, this can be corrected easily and naturally with a combination of hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin (Botox) can provide relief for excessive sweating – it inhibits sweat production. Injected into the armpit, it temporarily calms the muscles of our sweat glands. This has no effect on heat regulation, since only 5% of the sweat glands are located in the armpits. The effect wears off after a few months. You are free of sweat after 5-7 days, the Botox treatment takes only a few minutes for months of freedom from sweat.

A Botox treatment is performed on an outpatient basis and lasts between 15 – 30 minutes, depending on the number and extent of the affected areas. The effect unfolds after 3 to 5 days. The result usually remains stable for 3-5 months. After that, the drug has completely disappeared from the body.
The Botox treatment can be repeated at intervals of 3-6 months as needed.
