Birthmarks, called skin tumors, can be benign or malignant. Therefore, regular medical checks by a dermatologist are absolutely necessary. But even without a diagnosis to have these removed, they can be perceived as annoying and aesthetically unpleasant.

Birthmark-Removal

This happens when a birthmark is removed

The removal takes place in our ordination in a treatment room. After a detailed analysis, the area of the birthmark is disinfected and numbed with local anesthesia. You lie relaxed on a treatment couch. The birthmark is then punched and removed. The wound is then sewn and bandaged with a few stitches, the plasters should not be removed until the seam has been removed. The birthmark is sent to a laboratory and examined so that malignancy of the birthmark can be excluded. You will then receive the result from us.

Aftercare

After approximately seven days, the sutures are removed and the histological findings are discussed. During this time the wound should not come into contact with water. We recommend avoiding the sauna and solarium. After the suture has been removed, the scar should be massaged regularly and covered with a scar gel or a wound ointment. You can get the recipe from us. The scar must always be protected with a high sun protection factor, even weeks and months later, in order to prevent skin discolouration.

Costs

The costs for a mole removal start at € 390, including an initial consultation and follow-up treatment. In the case of conspicuous birthmarks, the service is partly covered by the health insurance and the invoice can be submitted afterwards.
