Scar Treatment

Thinking about a medical procedure, many patients are afraid of ugly and visible scars.

The truth is, postoperative scars are inevitable.
The good news is that we can do a great deal to support your wound healing and optimal suturing coupled with proper aftercare usually results in beautiful, almost invisible scars.

After the operation, an experienced treatment and care of the wounds from the first day is very important. With scar treatments such as massage techniques, serums and oils, laser treatments and silicone patches, the scar healing can be optimally supported.

Solution in steps

Initial Consultation

You can reach us for an appointment for an initial consultation in various ways:

You are welcome to contact us by phone: 01 353 55 55 or use our contact form. Please note that the next online appointment is not necessarily the next free appointment, please call us if there is no suitable online appointment available.

Scar Treatment

Once the crusts of the wound have loosened, the scar treatment can be started. Lightweight massage and a good ointment or oil are usually sufficient to help the scar in your healing optimally. Special scar creams are also suitable, contact us here, because not every expensive product is a good product.

If it comes to wound healing disorders, you must be active.

If the scars develop badly, do not despair because our patients are not alone. Hypertrophic scars and keloids are treated by our team using customized methods. The skin type, the age, the type of scar and the patient’s desire play a central role. In most cases, combination therapy offers the most common methods.

Scar cream & oil

As a basis of any scar treatment, special scar cream or scar oil is recommended. In the morning and evening, the product is incorporated into the scar with a pressure massage. A tweaking and throbbing sensation is normal and even desirable. The locally applied compression and massage improves blood circulation, which in turn stimulates collagen production, stabilizes and heals the scar.

Siliconeplaster & gel

With the help of silicone patches or gels, hypertrophic scars can be treated very well. The silicone improves the water balance of the affected area by preventing the evaporation of liquids. The scar has a better metabolism and can heal.

Plaster

Plasters should be worn as much as possible. Particularly important is the continuous use of the patches of daily 12-24 hours over several months, possibly in combination with a compression.

Laser Treatment

If creams and patches are not sufficient, the laser offers another non-surgical option. A short heat causes the top layer of the scar to be removed. A bruise is created and the crusts are released after about a week. The treatment lasts 10 minutes and should be repeated every 4 to 6 weeks.

Kortisoninjektionen

The injection of cortisone has an inhibitory effect on the formation of connective tissue, which contributes to the softening and flattening of the scar. This treatment is moderately painful for the moment of puncture and may be repeated up to 3 times at intervals.

Possible complications

Even with the best suturing technique, genetic wound healing disorders can occur. These include hypertrophic scars, ie very red and raised scars that concentrate around the incision. These can be treated very well and are formed in most cases.

Keloids, on the other hand, bulge over the cut in a bead shape. It is a rare healing disorder that occurs more in pigmented skin and usually remains permanent.

In both cases, the causes are not localized, but the effect can be varied and treated well.

If treatment of the scars is necessary for you, there is no need to worry because, as we all know, time heals all wounds.

Before & After Pictures

That’s what our patients say

Dr. Rolf Bartsch

Already in 2009, the method of cryolipolysis was first demonstrated in scientific articles. In the meantime, more than 1 million treatments have been performed worldwide. Cryolipolysis sounds complicated, but only means dissolution of the fatty tissue by cold. Not all devices keep their promises. Our combination therapy from the device of Deleo – Cristal – and the shock wave therapy are unique. More and more of my patients are benefiting from this method, releasing their fat in unwanted places.

Dr. Rolf Bartsch

No matter how little I eat and how much sport I do, the fat pads on my hips on the right and on the left just did not go away. Liposuction was out of the question for me. Thanks to the CoolCrush® treatments, my “Love Handles” are significantly reduced after only 2 treatments and the proportion is again consistent.
