Biopolymer Removal

Your wish: Full Lips without plastic
Solution: Lip reconstruction based on biopolymer

Many patients complain of too large and misshapen lips after biopolymer injections. They have been externally injected with biopolymer by a doctor they don’t know – often without Austrian approval. This can lead to serious side effects, but above all to a permanent deformation that can only be remedied with an operation.

The term “biopolymer” sounds healthy or biological because of the “bio”. However, this is not the case. This is a material for lip spraying, made from a different substance than hyaluronic acid. One can compare this substance with liquid plastic. Biopolymer fillers do not respond to Hylase and therefore cannot be reversed. The shelf life is given as a few years, the price is cheap and this attracts patients to have this material injected. In some cases, however, they do not even know what is being injected into them.

This happens during a biopolymer removal

In a surgical procedure, the lip is cut open and the firm, nodular plastic, which is usually already fused with the mucous membrane and muscles, is removed through small incisions. It is important to protect the lip artery and not to injure it. This procedure should only be performed by an experienced plastic surgeon. The structure can often hardly be separated from the tissue, it has already grown together. Biopolymer is a foreign body that we have to cut out of the tissue piece by piece. We use self-dissolving threads that are sewn inside. After the procedure, the patient can move her lips again just 20 minutes later. There may be swellings for several weeks afterwards, after about 6 months the patient can expect a final result.

Lippen mit Biopolymer und nach der Entfernung

If I had known beforehand what to expect, I would never have had biopolymer injected into my lips. I got a kind of beak,, everyone stared at me, my lip was rock hard and I was in pain! The surgical removal was inevitable and I am so glad that Dr. Bartsch removed this “devil’s stuff”.

Stay away from biopolymer. Plastic doesn’t belong in the lip. Biopolymer sounds so natural, but it cannot be dissolved with Hylase like hyaluronic acid. We have to cut open the lip piece by piece in one operation and remove the overgrown material from the lip. A complete removal is unfortunately no longer possible.
